Whether you call the grape Shiraz or Syrah, the one universal adjective used to describe that varietal’s character is “peppery.”

So my Marketing tip-of-the-hat goes to the Pfneisl family of Deutschkreutz, Austria who named their Shiraz….(wait for it)….

I also admire their straightforward family slogan: “Born 2 Make Wine.”

Oh, and if you had any doubt what a glass of their Shiraz tastes like, trust me, it’s peppery.
